System Requirements

Bubbles requres MacOS 7.6.1 or higher, PPC, Color QuickDraw. Note, Bubbles for classic MacOS is no longer supported. That means we will not produce any upgrades or bug fixes for MacOS. Our effort is concentrated on XBubbles for MacOSX. But you still can play the latest version Bubbles 1.3.

Hints and Tips

  • You can use "Clear table" button on the tool window to remove all records with score less than you specified from the score table.
  • Bubbles comes with three standard game fields. Available fields depend on the monitor resolution you have:640x480 - Small, 800x600 - Medium and 1024x768 - Large.
  • With Bubbles 1.3 you can create your own game fields using "GameField Manager"! Note, this is available for registered users only.
  • You can increase the number of balls which will appear every turn using the popup menu in the tool window.
  • Move the ball to outside of the game window and release mouse button if you want to interrupt the moving of that ball and choose another one.
  • Use 'Restart' button to restart current game.
  • You can specify the timeout for a turn. When time is up and you didn't make a step new set of balls will appear. So, think faster!
  • You can open the URLs within AboutBox with your default browser/mailer by "Command+Click". Note, this feature is available only if you have InternetConfig installed and configured.
  • You can use Balloon Help in major dialogs.

Support

Development of Bubbles for classic MacOS was discontinued all my efforts are contcentrated on XBubbles which is successor for MacOSX. However I gladly help you in any way I can. Known Problems

In Bubbles Version 1.3 sometimes a line of bubbles will disappear just as Game Over pops up on the screen and its hard to see the bubbles while completing the game. Also, if you select restart after the game is over, you have to contend with Game Over always being on the game board.

Bubbles Version 1..2 sometimes crashes when you picked up wrong ball and move it to outside of the game window and release mouse button. That happens only on MacOS 8.1 and later. (Fixed in version 1.3).

In Bubbles Version 1.0 and 1.0.1 sometimes set of balls disappears although there isn't any line. It happens very rarely but it happens! We couldn't get combination to reproduce such behavior yet. (This bug was fixed in in version 1.2 - thanks to Charlie).
